Some Stuff We Do

DGEN works closely with you to determine what you want from your web-site then make recommendations on how we can help you meet or exceed your business needs.

Some ways we can help you...

Web Design

Using our extensive web design knowledge, we will create a web solution that is eye-catching, professional, easy to use and maintain, that will strengthen and enhance your brand.

Front-end Web Development

We insist on building all web-sites following existing, current web standards. This ensures your web-site will work for many years, across all platforms, until you are ready for a change. By following the latest standards and trends your site will work faster, use less band-width and will be accessible to all potential customers.

Project Management

Working with your in-house team or with an outside service-provider, we will use our production expertise to ensure your web design/redesign project stays on track thoughout its lifecycle.

SEO (Search Engine Optimization)

What's the point of having a beautiful website if your customers can’t find it? We will work with your content-writers to create relevant copy that will make Search Engines happy, resulting in better page rankings. In plain english, this simply means that your customers will be able to find you.

Rants

So what about web standards?

Web standards are not new, in fact they have been around as long as I have been designing web-sites. So, why am I going on and on about them now?

Like many other designers/developers, I have created my share of table and image based web-sites with “not-so” valid markup, thinking they were brilliant, simply because they worked (sort of) in IE or FIrefox. The problem with table/image based layout is that the markup is all clogged up with presentation/layout content which causes slow, band-width hogging performance for your web-site, and makes your site a nightmare to maintain. These sites tend to degrade quickly, leaving you in need of a redesign all too soon.

Using current web design standards, valid markup and CSS (cascading style sheets), creates a site that is fast, uses less band-width, is accessible, and will not degrade over time.

What more do you need to know? Embracing web standards will make the internet a better place to be.
